“Intimate and sweeping, intellectually exciting and formally audacious.”—Manohla Dargis, The New York Times

Adapted from Kahlil Joseph’s renowned video art installation that was featured in the Speed’s Promise Witness Remembrance exhibition, BLKNWS: Terms & Conditions is a distinctive cinematic experience that mirrors the sonic textures of a record album, weaving fiction and history in an immersive journey where the fictionalized figures of W. E. B Du Bois and Marcus Garvey join artists, musicians, Joseph’s family, and even Twitter chats, in a vision for black consciousness.

This new version premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and went on to play at the Berlin Film Festival and the Toronto International Film Festival. It was also cited by The New York Times as one of the Top 10 Movies of 2025. 2025, U.S., DCP, 113 minutes. Rated R.
