Volunteer FAQ
What shifts can I volunteer for?
The Art of Change currently needs volunteers for four categories: front of house, stage hands, setup, and breakdown. Front of House shifts include ticket check-in/scanning, ID check and application of 21+ bracelets, outdoor pedestrian traffic control and an additional floating staff member. Stage hands facilitate change over of live acts on the Variety Stage and supports the Sound Tech in any way necessary. Setup volunteers help the Artwork Committee with set up and decoration tasks in addition to helping any other committees with logistical or physical location set up needs. Breakdown volunteers help with general clean up and breakdown of the venue, as well as enforcing a Leave No Trace ethic - leave everything the way we found it.
What is the time commitment for volunteering?
We ask that all volunteers commit to a minimum 2 hr shift either during the set up, running or breakdown of the event. Of course, you are more than welcome to put in more time, but it won't lower the special discounted ticket price. It will just increase our love and appreciation. Remember to factor in travel time, as access to the site is limited on the day of and throughout the event.
How do I apply to be a volunteer?
Volunteers can sign up to participant by filling out a form on the Art of Change website. Individuals will be placed in positions based on their stated areas of interest and experience. Anyone can volunteer! The volunteer positions will be filled on a first come, first served basis, with a limited list of names on reserve.
What perks are there to volunteering?
Individuals selected to volunteer for the Art of Change will be eligible to purchase their event ticket at a discounted rate of $20 per ticket. If you are selected for a volunteer shift, the volunteer coordinator will provide details of how you can redeem this offer when purchasing your ticket.
