DESCRIPTION:Register\nProject: In the Grain: Inspired by LaVon Van Williams Jr. \n\nFacilitated by: Shadia Nilforoush and Stephen Batiz\nJoin us for a hands-on art workshop inspired by Lexington artist LaVon Van Williams Jr.\, known for his carved panels that speak to his own life\, identity\, and experiences. Bring a simple drawing\, (8.5″ x 11″ or smaller) or sketch that reflects who you are; this can be a self-portrait or any subject matter (i.e.\, a teapot because you are known for your love of tea). Participants will transfer their drawings onto basswood\, carve their designs\, and bring them to life with color.
